Giving Medicine Domain a Dash of Professionalism

The healthcare industry has shown a tremendous growth in the past decade in India. The current $25 billion industry is expected to become a $200 billion industry by 2020 because of the rising income levels and elderly population of India. This phenomenal growth has pressed the demand for efficient hospital administrators as the healthcare managers are responsible for personnel, financial and patient administration. In 1961 the World Health Organization recommended the introduction of hospital administration as a separate specialty like any other specialty of medical sciences. With the growing number of hospitals in India hospital managers are greatly in demand.

Medvarsity, an initiative by Apollo Hospital, is providing a diploma course in Hospital Administration to load students with technical knowledge and concepts to perform administrative functions efficiently. The course emphasizes upon providing necessary skills for practical orientation and implementation of strategies according to the modern hospitals. The course comes with a correspondence/ distance learning facility so working professionals can benefit from its flexible learning schedule. In addition to this, all the study material is available online; one can study as per their comfort. It also includes practical training of 2 weeks at Apollo Hospitals all over India along with evaluation and certification of successful candidates.
